QMU shortlisted for Scottish Ethnic Minority Talent Award
Queen Margaret University has been shortlisted for the Education and Employability Award at the Scottish Ethnic Minority Talent Awards 2026.
The nomination recognises QMU’s ongoing work to advance equality, diversity and inclusion across the University community, including its EDI Culture Review and the five-year action plan developed from its findings.
Published in 2024, the EDI Culture Review brought together policy analysis, internal data and the experiences of staff and students to identify practical actions to support a more inclusive university. The work has since supported a range of initiatives, including QMU’s Anti-Racism lecture series, Decolonising Working Group, International Student Society and Neurodivergent and Disabled Staff Network.
The work is also contributing to measurable changes in representation across a number of protected characteristics within QMU’s staff and student populations.
, hosted by DataKirk, celebrate organisations and individuals helping to create more inclusive opportunities for ethnic minority talent across Scotland.
The awards ceremony will take place in Edinburgh on 29 October 2026.
